This room is simply a sea faring space for your little one. I think I might add a navy blue pirate’s flag on the wall for an added touch of young fun in the room.

Shades of lavender served as the jumping point for me in this inspiration board of a room for a young girl. However, as lavender is truly a versatile choice of color, the idea soon evolved into hints of citrus accents and delightful little details. Here are some of the elements I chose for this space:

1. This Art Fronckowiack painting truly brings all the hues of the rainbow together, and completely brightens the space. It’s a beautiful art piece to grow with her.

2. The Serena and Lily Picadilly Chair has a feminine shape and classic, strong quality. It would prove to be a great reading spot for years to come, and transition nicely into a desk chair as well for those school years.

3. The perfect complimentary citrus shade to envelope the room in sunshine.

4. Side note: I officially want this Oilo Modern Berries light. The lime color ties in nicely with the bedding and other accents throughout the room, serving as an additional complimentary accent color.

5. This Bratt Decor Manhattan armoire is perfect storage area for a little girl, and topped off wth these knobs, makes it irresistible.

6. These wall letters are displayed in a beautiful font for your little one, in the perfect shades of lavender.

7. and 9. These Annette Tatum fabrics would make a beautiful bedding set. The striped: to serve as a duvet cover, with the others as great accent fabrics, with a hint of piping and ruffle for added detail. They would also make some delightful window treatments. I adore this Rikshaw Design elephant pillow to add an organic, fun shape, and the Whistle and Wink coverlet at the foot with it’s scalloped shape would add a whimsical touch. (In lavender, of course)

8. This Bradshaw Kirchofer Farmhouse bed has a classic, feminine shape, with good bones to last for years to come.

10. These flower wall stickers would make an excellent and quieter accent wall, in a simple white as a subtle contrast to the citrine paint.

11. This Bratt Decor Chelsea dresser brings a luxurious feel to the room with its delicate curvature and rich detailing…again, with good bones to last a lifetime.

I simply love the look and feel of purple with citrus accents. What are some other elements you would like to see here? I think a rich, fluffy white rug would also be nice in the space. The perfect fresh and simple space!

Do you like to keep the gender of your baby a surprise until they’re born? Surprises are so much fun and these days, it’s so easy to design a gender neutral nursery so you are prepared whether the baby’s a boy or girl. For this nursery, I went with a color scheme of green and orange with a touch of blue and brown.

And now for a breakdown of the goodies:

1. I wanted to keep the feel of the room light and airy and the Nurseryworks Snow Loom Crib does just the trick. Not only is it white which will help provide a little contrast in the room, but the design of it is also simple and clean.
2. The room design all started with the Area Baby White Mini Organic Crib Bedding Set. I love the combination of circles and stripes, and the color palette it provided for the room design.
3. To tie everything together, I chose this gorgeous Serena and Lily Rug Leaf Deco Frame. To say I love it is an understatement. It’s simple and perfect and it’s a great foundation piece to this nursery.
4. Another beautiful piece is the Nurseryworks Storytime Rocker. Having a rocker or glider in the nursery is a must in my book. It makes everything much more comfortable for baby and mother.
5. I also firmly believe in changing tables. They are better then bending down on the floor to change a diaper– much easier on the back anyways! And they’re great for extra storage too. The Argington Furniture White Bam Changing Table is similar in design to the crib, keeping the room light and airy. I have paired the changing table with the matching diaper caddy and for a little pop of color the Serena and Lily Orange Basketweave Large Storage Bin. Both of these will make everything more organized.
6. I felt the room needed more pops of color so I chose the Whistle and Wink Preppy Stripe Window Panels. The blue and green combination adds a little texture to the room.
7. I would hang this Olli and Lime Little Billie Wall Art above the rocker or the changing table. It’s such a cute, cute piece and it also helps bring our color palette together.
8. For additional lighting in the room, add the Oilo Solid Spring Green Double Decker Light. I love the depth the double decker gives to the look of the light. This would be perfect hanging over the rocker.

Looking to design your little man’s first big boy room? This inspiration board is a tribute to all the­­ little men out there. From their first out-of-the crib transition, all the way to college, this selection has good bones combined with strong design to last them a lifetime. With both modern, fun stripes and heirloom pieces that can be passed down to their very own grandchildren, this space has time-tested classics with whimsical twist.

1. Day Bed: A bed is always the the center focus of any room. This Bradshaw Kirchofer Marsailles Day Bed is available in a multitude of finishes. “New england blue peeled paint” feels appropriate, to bring in a bit of depth to the room with darker colors to contrast with all the lighter ones.

2. One of the most important aspects of a room, is paint color. The right color in a room can either make or break your entire design you’ve chosen. For this wonderful big boy room, I chose two colors from serena and lily’s line: Oatmeal and Shell. The light colors keep it classic and airy, but used in something different, like alternating, broad stripes on the wall could make a real impact, and create a true escape for your child.

3. For a bedside lamp, this Serena and Lily Bird’s Nest Hanging Lamp really fits the bill. Bringing in an element of organic shapes to contrast with the stripes of the bedding, and adding a natural touch to the overall appeal of the room. Talk about instilling the love of reading for years to come with great design…

4. The bedding: The Whistle and Wink Chambray Duvet is a timeless choice with vintage appeal. But sandwiched in between, if you will, layers of colorful pattern and interest. 6. which brings us to…the dresser. Again, from the same line, there is something wonderfully simple about these classic lines.

7. Topped off with the perfect lamp, repeating some of the natural colors in its raffia shade, but with the base a nice stainless metal for a modern feel.

8. The artwork can be changed out over the years to your son’s request, but this handsome pair certainly makes it feel younger and exciting.

9. My favorite part of the room, I would have to say, is the Serena and Lily rug. It ties in the slight curvature of the lines in the furniture, and the color from the walls, to make the room feel more grounded, and together.

So, there you have it. A fun filled classic room with a touch of whimsy for your little man. Something with good, classic bones to last for years to come, with hints of color throughout that can be easily updated with the passing of time.
